If
the job calls for a rugged, durable board that resists dents
and punctures, you'll want Gatorfoam and nothing else. The
exceptionally hard, smooth surface is uniform and blemish
free, so photo mounters, artists, designers, sign painters,
exhibit builders and engineers have counted on it for years
.A durable lightweight board used to mount photographs as
well as other media.
Gatorfoam
dimensional letters consists of a core of polystyrene
foam bonded on both sides with wood fibers that is impregnated
with resin. This type of construction provides durability
and rigidity as well as moisture resistance. Gatorfoam is
one of the most durable and toughest laminated foam panels
on the market. Three-dimensional letters
are cut from Gatorfoam panels made from a durable core of
rigid polystyrene foam bonded on both sides by resin impregnated
wood fiber veneers. The result is a building letter laminated
foam panel with an exceptionally hard, smooth surface that
resists dents, punctures and moisture and excepts most all
paints. Gatorfoam is the board of choice for interior and
exterior office wall lettering and graphics because of its
smooth surface and warp resistance. Its strength is also well
suited for dimensional letters of just about any size.
Gatorfoam
raised letters have a foam center of Dow styrofoam
polystyrene with a Luxcell veneer on both front and back.
Luxcell veneer is a multi layered, resin-impregnated, Kraft
paper veneer. Styrofoam is a much harder form of polystyrene
foam and is more durable, but does not stand up to the elements
any better. The hardness of the core combined with the veneer
results in a board that can be difficult to cut. The major
advantage of Gatorfoam is its thickness, which ranges from
3/16 inch to 1 inch.
Gatorfoam
is manufactured with two surfaces, one white, and the other
brown. The brown Kraft is better for dimensional letters because
of its ability to receiving paint and for mounting. There
are also two grades: Gatorfoam I is the standard, Gatorfoam
II is a less expensive version with an expanded polystyrene
foam center. Gatorfoam II is primarily used in model building
and as a lightweight substitute for plywood. Our dimensional
letters are manufactured using Gatorfoam I materials.
